Method

  1. Cake Batter

    • Beat the eggs and sugar together until fluffy.
    • Sift the wheat flour, cornstarch, double-acting baking powder (Best Foods brand), and Ovate together, and mix well. Then, combine this mixture with the beaten eggs and sugar in a stand mixer.
    • Add vegetable oil and orange flavor to the mixture and fold it together until well combined.
    • Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F).
    • Pour the mixture into a baking tray and bake for 12 minutes. Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool. Afterward, cut it into square pieces that fit the cake box.

  2. Orange Sauce

    • Add orange flavor filling (Best Foods brand), clean water, and granulated sugar into a pot. Use medium heat to simmer until it boils. Add cornstarch mixed with water into the sauce and continue simmering until it thickens and becomes clear.
    • Add orange food coloring and stir well. Set aside.

  3. Decoration

    • In a square cake box, place the cut cake as the base. Then, pour the sauce over it. Repeat the process for a total of 3 layers.
    • Decorate with canned orange segments and mint leaves. Serve and enjoy.
